If you're a student who's always on the road, there's no reason you shouldn't be getting a little something extra out of your miles. With the Discover® Open Road(SM) Card for Students, you can get great cash rewards on all of your gas and auto maintenance purchases, while establishing great credit at the same time.
There's no arguing with cold, hard cash, and that's what you'll be seeing if you use this credit card to its full potential. Your Discover® Open Road(SM) Card for Students will get you a 5% rebate on all of your gas and auto maintenance, so no matter how much it costs to keep you filled up and running strong, you'll always be getting something back.
But that isn't all that this card offers. The Discover® Open Road(SM) Card for Students also lets you earn up to 1% for all of your other general purchases. If the total annual cost of your general purchases is over $1,500, you will automatically get a .25% cash rebate, while those who spend between $1,500 and $3,000 will receive a .5% rebate. If you spend over $3,000, you will be eligible for the full 1% cash rebate on every single purchase that you make with your credit card.
And you don't have to wait for ages until your rewards have totaled up to some astronomical sum before you see a check. Rewards are redeemable in $20 increments, so you'll see your rebates sooner rather than later. There is no cap on the rewards that you can earn while using this card, and you don't have to worry about them expiring right under your nose. As long as your account stays active over a 36 month period, your rewards will be good.
As a Discover® Open Road(SM) Card holder, you can also earn a .25% rebate at certain warehouse clubs and discount stores, so that you can earn money even while you're saving it. And you can earn yourself a double Cashback Bonus® if you redeem your rebates for gift certificates at participating Discover Card Partners, to maximize your rewards.
There is no annual fee on this card, and though the APR is slightly higher than average, you'll get a 0% APR for an introductory period of six months on all of your purchases. As long as you aren't planning on carrying a balance on this card after the introductory period ends, it gives you great credit card benefits and an excellent way to get cash back on the road.
