If you're a student who is looking for a credit card that can help you build a strong credit score and get you great cash rewards for your spending at the same time, the Discover® Student Card ® Clear, can get you the benefits you want. This credit card, issued by Discover, has an excellent rebate program that will make sure you get something back every time you have to pull out your card.
As a Discover ® Student Card® Clear cardholder, you will be able to earn a 5% rebate on all of the purchases that you make within a specific category. This category will change four times a year, to things like entertainment, restaurants, travel, gas, and many more, so that you can get rewards when you go out in every season.
Not only will you earn a 5% rebate on these purchases, but you will also be eligible for up to a 1% rebate on everything else that you buy. If your annual spending on all of your other purchases totals to more than $1,500, you will receive a .25% rebate on all of your following purchases, and if you spend between $1,500 and $3,000, you will earn a .5% rebate. If your annual spending on general purchases exceeds $3,000, you will receive a full 1% rebate on every other purchase that you make.
You will also earn a .25% rebate a certain warehouse clubs and discount stores, so you can get cash back on top of your savings. And you can redeem your rebates for gift certificates from participating Discover Card Partners and earn a double Cashback Bonus®, effectively doubling your rebates. There is absolutely no limit on the rebates that you can earn using this card, and you rebates won't expire as long as your account stays active within a 36 month period.
In addition, you will also receive various cardholder benefits, like online account management, zero liability for unauthorized transactions, and various discounts on many products and services at a variety of venues.
The APR associated with this card is higher than the average, but there is no annual fee and you will enjoy a six-month introductory period of a 0% APR to start. After that, the method used to finance charges on this card can make carrying a balance a bit pricey, but if you're planning on doing a lot of spending without carrying a balance from month to month, this card offers great rewards.
