Student credit cards should offer great benefits too and the Discover® Student Card does. If you're a student with a strong credit score and you're looking for a credit card with a great cash rewards program, this card, issued by Discover, can be your ticket to big savings. With this card, you can get cash back and continue to build your credit score at the same time.
When you use your Discover® Student Card, you can earn great rewards on all of your usual luxury spending. You will earn a 5% rebate on all of your purchases in a category that rotates four times a year, to get you earnings from every place you spend. From restaurants and entertainment to travel and gas, you won't have to feel guilty spending a little money on yourself, because you'll always know that a little will be coming back to you.
In addition, as a Discover® Student Card cardholder, you can earn up to a 1% rebate on all of your other general purchases, depending upon your total annual spending. If your annual spending on general purchases totals to up to $1,500, you will automatically receive a .25% rebate on all of your subsequent spending, while if you spend between $1,500 and $3,000, you will receive a .5% rebate. If you spend $3,000 or more during the course of the year, you will receive a full 1% rebate on all of your spending that follows.
When you're using your Discover® Student Card, you will also earn a .25% rebate a select warehouse clubs and discount stores, so you can earn extra money even while you're saving money. And you can earn a double Cashback Bonus® if you redeem your rebates for gift certificates from participating Discover Card Partners, and double your rewards. There is no yearly limit on the amount of the rebates that you can earn with this card, and your rebates won't expire as long as your account stays active within a 36 month period, so you can spend them at your leisure. You will also get online account management, zero liability on unauthorized transactions, and discounts on various products and services at different venues.
This card has an APR that is above the average, but it has absolutely no annual fee and an introductory APR of 0% for six months. This card can make carrying a balance a bit pricey, but if you don't plan on carrying one, it offers incredible rewards.
