Want a credit card to order items online but don't want to get yourself in debt and pay a ton of interest with a standard unsecured card? The Wired Plasti® Prepaid Visa® Card, issued by BANKFIRST, is a card that was designed for you. This card is a stored value credit card, which means that you place money on the card ahead of time for purchases you are going to make in the future.
As with most prepaid cards, you are able to take advantage of the benefits of having a VISA card without paying the interest, annual fees, and all other charges typically associated with unsecured credit cards. It is also easier to get this card than a traditional credit card because there are no credit check policies and no employment verifications in order to sign up for the card.
There are other benefits to using the Wired Plastic® Prepaid Visa® Card specifically as well. Most prepaid cards do not offer special rewards for using their particular card, but this one does. It offers automatic bill payment, direct deposit, and access to a unique reward program called the Wired Points Rewards Program. Through this program, you earn one point for each dollar you spend using the card. You can later redeem your points for long distance calling cards, music downloads, a variety of ring tones, and prepaid wireless airtime through participating partners. There is no limit to the number of points you can earn in a year. Who doesn't love a little something back for the money they spend?!
There are a few fees associated with this card, but they are minimal in comparison with many other prepaid and even traditional unsecured cards. There is also a minimum of $20 the first time you load your card. These are all very reasonable fees for this type of card.
If you are looking for a prepaid card to help establish your credit, this card is not for you as they do not report your use to the credit bureaus. However, The Wired Plastic® Prepaid Visa® Card may be a beneficial option for you if you are looking for a prepaid card to help you make purchases where you need a credit card and could not, or do not want to, do it through a traditional unsecured card. The bonus is that there are even rewards with this card! If you don't mind paying a few up-front fees, this could be the card you have been looking for.
